Sally Minty-Gravett MBE Never Stops

Sally Minty-Gravett, MBE keeps swimming and swimming and swimming.

After an illustrious career where honors were showered upon her from the British government to the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, Sally Minty-Gravett, MBE continues to coach, mentor, inspire, guide, escort and assist swimmers of all ages and abilities from her native Isle of Jersey to places as far flung as America and India.

On April 26th, she completed a 3-person tandem swim in 5 hours 40 minutes across the 14.4 km Strait of Gibraltar together with 63-year-old Deborah Vine from Epsom in Surrey, UK  and 64-year-old Douglas  Comstock from Connecticut, USA.  “It was 189 years between us.

After days of rain, we set off in PERFECT CONDITIONS with the most amazing sunrise.  The conditions were perfect for the first 3 hours and then the cramps started and a bit of puking, but we soldiered on, a team we were and we all finished in confused seas.”
