Rose Blossoms After 100 Years

Deanne Draeger reported that the Rose Pitonof Centennial Swim blossomed to a grand success. The 17-mile memorial swim went from Manhattan Island to Coney Island in New York as the 100th anniversary of Rose Pitonof‘s historic swim.

Rose Pitonof was a marathon swimmer from Dorchester, Massachusetts who won the 1910 Boston Light Swim and then was known for her title of Long Distance Swimming Champion of the World.

2. Cara McAteer 5 hours 51 minutes 5 seconds
3. Leonard Jansen: 6 hours 1 minute 15 seconds
4. Jaimie Monahan: 6 hours 3 minutes 48 seconds
5. Alan Morrison: 6 hours 9 minutes 4 seconds
6. Jason Malick: 6 hours 24 minutes 53 seconds
