Lewis Pugh is on his way up Mount Everest to do his 1-mile swim in a glacial lake at 17,000-foot altitude.

As Kevin Murphy said during his acceptance speech at the International Swimming Hall of Fame induction ceremony this weekend in Florida, “Marathon swimming is a team effort for swimmers cannot do their swims alone and depend on the assistance of others.”

One of the sherpa carrying Lewis‘ boat is clearly pulling his weight in support of Lewis’ swim.
