NYC Observers

It is public, so you promote it anywhere. But if you do, please advise folks that are the eyes and ears for NYC Swim – though it is not just a pleasure trip.;) Thanks.

Also, be safe today…

What happened in japan is just terrible.

Subject: MIMS observer information (public or not)?

Morty,

Is this observer information that I can post for the Global Open Water Swimming Conference website page?

Hi guys,

NYC Swim would love to have you as boat observers for the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. We have two different events this summer: a large field of solo swimmers and a few relays on June 18, and a predominantly relay event on July 16. For either one, you can sign up on the website by clicking the “Enroll as a volunteer” link on the event page.

http://www.nycswim.org/Event/Event.aspx?Event_ID=2102 = 6/12

http://www.nycswim.org/Event/Event.aspx?Event_ID=2106 = 7/16

We will hold pre-event orientations by phone/webinar and also send out details in advance.

Please let me know if you have further questions, and we hope to see you for a swim. If you’d like to join us *in* the water for any events, we’d welcome that as well.

Cheers,

Hannah

Subject: MIMS support from Ventura Deep Six

Morty and Hannah,

The intrepid men of the Ventura Deep Six would love to be observers for the

2011 MIMS. These men, I can guarantee, are some of the toughest open water swimmers and experienced support crew on the planet. These men swam for over 4 days non-stop in 56-60 degree F water under traditional English Channel rules in rough seas. They include Catalina Channel swimmers and are professionals of various types on terra firma.

They really want to be a part of MIMS.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Steven
