New Swimspiration, The Celtic Quadrant

Pádraig Mallon announced the latest swimspiration, The Celtic Quadrant, today.

You know us at Infinity. We offer all the trimmings: cold water, fast tidal flow, jellyfish. We don’t do easy. We are introducing two additional swims to make up The Celtic Quadrant.”

The Celtic Quadrant is a four-part ocean swimming series in Ireland that include the following swims:

* The Isle of Man Channel Swim, a 70 km 6-person relay between Ireland and the Isle of Man in 11°C to 13°C water at £200 per swimmer with a window between 14–20 June 2017 with an estimated time of 24+ hours for crossing

* The Oa Channel Swim, a 45 km 6-person relay between the Isle of Islay and Ireland in 11°C to 13°C water at £200 per swimmer with a window between 15–20 July 2017 with an estimated time of 18+ hours for crossing

* The Dál Riata Channel Swim, a 17 km (10.5-mile) channel swim between Mull of Kintyre in Scotland to Ballycastle in Northern Ireland

* The North Irish Channel Swim, a 34.5 km (21.4 miles) between North Ireland and Scotland in 10.5-14°C (50-54ºF) water

The team plus two reserves will receive a complimentary pass to the HITtheWALL open water training weekend on May 26th-29th. Team participants will be vetted and selected by March 1st by the Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services that will be looking closely at the applicants background, stamina and mindset to select those who will become the teams to take on these mammoth challenges.”
