Momentos Of Channel Swimming Wanted

Karen Throsby Ph.D. of the University of Warwick in England is conducting ongoing research on English Channel swimming. She writes, “I have started work on a paper about what a Channel swim means to people who complete (or fail to complete) them. In particular, I’m looking for people who have had tattoos marking successful swims, had jewellery made, or details of how people have used or displayed Channel swim momentos. For example, pebbles from the beach or swim charts.”
Swimmers can email photos of swim tattoos or jewellery, or descriptions of them and a short account of what they represent and why along with descriptions of how pebbles and charts are displayed to Karen Throsby.
