The U.S. Masters Swimming 1-mile Open Water Swimming Championships will be held in Lake Norman, North Carolina this weekend as part of the Carolina’s Open Water Challenge in Gar Creek.
The North Carolina race is the kick-off race for the 2010 U.S. Masters Swimming Open Water Swimming Championship season.
The swimmers are seeded by their 1650-yard times and it looks like Mason Brunnick and Justine Mueller are the class of the field with seeded times over 30 seconds faster than their closest competitors. But, as in everything in the open water, expect the unexpected.
