It’s Pumping On The West Coast

It appears the ocean swells on the west coast of United States will be in force for the American Fourth of July weekend.

With waves forecasted to be as high as 10-15 feet along coast, open water swimmers should be able to get in some good body surfing practice this weekend.

While most swimmers will be practicing, Karen Rogers will be facing some large swells and cold sub-50°F (10°C) water out on her 30-mile Farallones Island swim that supposedly started at 3 am this morning, 30 miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately, it appears Karen‘s GPS SPOT device is not working, but it may send some signals as she approaches the California mainland later today.
