It Was Music To Their Eyes In The Clean Half

Sometimes a song gets stuck in your head and you can’t get it out no matter what in the open water. Other times, a great song just pops in your head, its melody or lyrics are just right, and the pulsating music in your head enhances your open water experience.

Race Director Doug Woodring of the Ocean Recovery Alliance Clean Half extreme marathon swim race in Hong Kong knows just that. So he adds a bit of innovative spice to his race. He wants the participants to be engaged, inspired and tuned in.

His solution: placing musicians at different points in the race, serenading the swimmers as they passed by.
