Valerio Cleri of Italy won the 25K at the European Swimming Championships yesterday in 5 hours and 16 minutes, 16 seconds faster than silver medalist Bertrand Venturi of France.
Other European champions this year included Thomas Lurz of Germany in the 10K and Luca Ferretti of Italy in the 5K as well as the Greek team in the team 5K pursuit.
