Eric Blakeley MBE is a channel swimmer, a mountaineer, an adventurer, a television journalist from Jersey.
Besides his 12 hour 51 minute Round Jersey swim in 2000, his 9 hour 48 minute circumnavigation at the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, he was the first person in history to successfully achieve the Seven Summits (the highest peaks on the 7 continents) and swim across the English Channel.
Blakeley summited Mount Everest in 1997 and swam across the English Channel in 2003 and was also the second individual to complete the Peak and Pond.
He has been awarded the Churchill Award for Courage by the States of Jersey, for his climb of Mount Everest and received an MBE for services to mountaineering, sport and charity – a man of incredible depths who has achieved incredible heights.
