David Bosch from Sunnyside, New York was a member of the Coney Island Polar Bear Club.
He participated in various winter swimming events from China’s Taierzhuang Winter Swimming Festival to the U.S. Winter Swimming Championships in Vermont and New York.
He helped raise money for Camp Sunshine that provides respite, support, joy and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses and their immediate families through various stages of a child’s illness.
Iceman Tom Mcgann remembers the personable swimmer. “Yesterday we lost a good man. Dave was a member of the Coney Island Polar Bear Club, an international cold water swimmer, and a person who loved to be outside exercising. He was always smiling and had a good ready handshake. He will be missed by all of his family and friends especially by his good buddy polar bear Seth.
Dave loved to live life. He liked travel. He liked to have fun. It is important to love life. Do what you want to do whenever you can. Say you love them to your parents, spouses, children, and friends. Life can be great, but it can also be too short. Remember we really only have today so make good use of the time that you have.”
