Philippe Dubreuil of Canada competed for Canada at two World Swimming Championships, a Pan Pacific Swimming Championships and a Pan American Games, always representing his country well.

He has recently graduated from Sherbrooke University with a Masters in Psychology and is in Quebec City working to improve team dynamics.

Back at the 2009 USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships in Fort Myers, Florida, Philippe Debreuil handily won the 10K race in 1:51:38 after shooting out away from world championship medalists Fran Crippen of Germantown Academy (1:52:41) and Andrew Gemmell of the University of Georgia and the Delaware Swim Team (1:52:43) rounding out the top three. Philippe later said, “I still can’t believe I got the win, it’s a big thrill. With such a big field I really didn’t want to get stuck in a large pack so I focused on getting off to a very fast start. I got out to the lead and I just tried to increase it on every lap.”

After representing the sport and his country well, we see only great things in Philippe’s future.
