Dave Mackenzie of Hawaii passed away after struggling in an ocean swim at Kailua Beach on Oahu. He was brought to shore by Jet Ski and was tried to be revived by CPR before being pronounced dead at a local hospital.
“He was a very humble, caring, loving, generous person,” said his daughter Deva Correa. “He was always willing to help and give positive encouraging words, he loved his family so much.”
He was an avid waterman who helped others train for all kinds of open water swims.
