The TransBay Relay benefit swim for San Francisco Baykeeper will take place on September 10th.
This 9-mile relay is the only organized swimming event that spans San Francisco Bay – starting at the Golden Gate, swimming past Alcatraz and Treasure Island, and finishing in Emeryville. Its participants help raise money and awareness for Baykeeper and a healthy San Francisco Bay.
In its first edition last year, the event had 22 participants in teams of 3 or 4 swimmers along with a few solo performers. For more information, contact Tracy Corbin via email here.
San Francisco Baykeeper is the pollution watchdog for San Francisco Bay. Since 1989, Baykeeper has been holding polluters accountable and strengthening clean water laws for the benefit of the Bay’s water quality, wildlife and recreational users.
