Moesha Johnson (28, Australia, World Aquatics bio here, @swimmer_moesha) has been impressively dominant in the open water against all-comers over the last two years since her silver medal performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics 10 km.

Johnson, a 26-time podium finisher in international competitions, will test her winning streak at the 2026 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. She will be the headliner athlete on Monday’s Pan Pacs 10 km race to be held in Long Beach, California.

The 6-loop 10 km course in Marine Stadium is expected to be quite warm (24°C) and very flat and tranquil.  Ichika Kajimoto (22, Japan World Aquatics bio here), Jeannette Spiwoks (27, Germany, World Aquatics bio here) and a quintet of Americans (Mariah Denigan, Katie Grimes, Brinkleigh Hansen, Becca Mann, and Ashley Twichell shown above with the rest of Team USA) are expected to give chase to the 175 km Australia star who trains in Germany.

Many of the open water swimmers will also compete in the pool events, from the 400m IM to the 1500m freestyle, that will be held in Irvine between August 12th – 15th.
