Chris and Dan are animated characters that were created in 2008 to provide their fictional-based-on-reality commentary and analysis of feeding and drafting among competitive open water swimmers. With swimmers preparing for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo Bay this August, the animated duo may make a comeback in 2021.
Because of the tranquil conditions and warm water expected in Tokyo Bay, feeding and drafting will be take on particularly important roles in the race and ultimate podium finishers.
It is unknown what type, length, or position of the feeding pontoons will be available in Tokyo Bay on August 4th for the 25 female finalists and on August 5th for the 25 male finalists in the marathon swim.
