Anne Marie Ward of Ireland gave a typically humble and profound acceptance speech at the United Nations when she received her 2010 World Open Water Swimming Woman of the Year award.
The English Channel and North Channel swimmer gave great praise to those North Channel swimmers ahead of her and her support crew, some of whom traveled to New York City with her.
