Another swim against world-class competition; another victory for German superstar Thomas Lurz.

Lurz won the next-to-last leg on the FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit in Shantou, China on September 29th.

Topping 33 other men from around the world, the race was held in the Xin Jin River in southern China.

Lurz won in 1 hour 46 minutes 56.54 seconds, just a tiny amount – almost imperceptible to the naked eye – over Brazil’s Allan do Carmo in 1 hour 46 minutes 57.30. Romain Beraud of France finished third in 1:46:58.03.

The professional marathon swimmers head over to Hong Kong for the final race on the 2013 circuit where Lurz can wrap up his second overall title on the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit.
