Caroline Block joined two other women in successfully completing a solo swim across Cayuga Lake in New York: Claire de Boer in 1984, Bridgette Hobart in 2015 and David Barra in 2015.

She completed a 56 km unassisted crossing* in 21 hours 28 minutes – the first in the south-to-north direction – according to her Marathon Swimmers Federation tracker [see here].

* Russell Chaffee also completed a neoprene-aided crossing in 1965.
