LA28 Olympic tickets were offered to Southern California and Oklahoma residents between April 2nd–6th (see information on the Olympic ticket pre-sale here).
Lucky individuals, who had previously entered a lottery to register for the ticket offering, were given specific time slots. Interested Olympic fans could only review the available tickets and make their purchase during their specific time slots.
The general public sale (Drop 1) will runs between April 9th – 19th.
There was quite a buzz among Olympic fans from Southern California and Oklahoma who were able to purchase tickets. While many fans had sticker shock, especially for the most popular events (e.g., pool swimming, track & field, gymnastics), there were many open water swimming fans who were surprised no tickets were available for the Olympic 10 km open water swim to be held at the Belmont Shore Long Beach Zone in the Long Beach on July 17th and 18th 2028.
It was interesting and curious why open water swimming tickets were not available, although seemingly every other sport and venue had tickets to offer.
Perhaps the enigma will cease with the general public sale later this week?
We hope so.
