Dr. Meenakshi Pahuja’s Eco-swim Tribute To Her Father V.K. Pahuja

Dr. Meenakshi Pahuja is an Associate Professor at the Lady Shri Ram College For Women, University of Delhi in India and a member of the National Selection Committee for the prestigious Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award given by the Government of India.

She recently completed an unprecedented 18 km swim as an eco-swim tribute to her late father and renowned swimming coach V.K. Pahuja.

She swam 18 km from Revas Jetty in Alibaug to the Gateway of India in Mumbai in the Arabian Sea on December 6th 2024 in 6 hours 24 minutes with her escort support team of Abhinav Kant ChaturvediKirish Gandhi, and Faisal Siddiqui. The 47-year-old professor said, “My father’s legacy is the foundation of all my achievements. His guidance taught me the true meaning of perseverance and commitment.”

We must not take water for granted, nor should we pollute it. Water is a powerful element of Nature that sustains life. It is our collective responsibility to ensure clean water is available for future generations, and that water pollution is a growing threat that we can no longer ignore.”
