Spread the love

With summer underway, Bruckner Chase and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will launch a coastal safety program.

He explains, “We have over 2,000 beach bag tags and 120 posters that are being shipped to various beaches. We set up a process to both measure impressions of the QR codes and collect basic information from those who visit the beaches.  The Weather Channel will feature the program on-air. NOAA Ocean Today may add this program to their new animated ocean and conservation series. And the Delaware State Beach Patrol of over 100 lifeguards to give tags to their staff and put posters on the beach.

Michelle Evans-Chase, PhD will take the lead in tracking engagement and the program’s impact. “Our goal is to have quantitative and qualitative information for our partners to fold this program into their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy. The cording on the tags is made from 100% recycled PET plastics, so we have a fantastic conservation narrative to parallel the social impact story.”

Watch the 7-part Wave Safe Series with Bruckner Chase here where Chase visits coastal areas to share expert tips and local knowledge on how to ensure visits to any beach stays fun and safe.
