The Seal Beach 42nd annual Rough Water Swim went without a hitch yesterday in Southern California.

The site of many great swimmers – from Lynne Cox to Penny Lee Dean, from Karen Reeder to Shelley Taylor-Smith, Seal Beach has welcomed and played its part in the development and showcasing of many great female marathon swimmers for decades.

The current generation aims to head offshore where their predecessors once traversed.
