Norm Draper who served as the race director of the Atlantic City Pageant Swim for years gave the pre-race instructions to the field before today’s 1.5-mile race where large surf and strong currents made the conditions rough.

But Norm collapsed after the race and was taken immediately to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus.

His condition remains unknown.
