A Sad Commentary On Cheating In Sports

Cheating in sports takes a variety of forms, from skirting the rules to cutting a buoy in open water swimming. When specific substances are illegal taken to enable greater musculature, faster recovery or improved cardiovascular endurance, the line certainly has been crossed. The World Anti-Doping Agency promotes, coordinates and monitors the fight against doping in sports in all its forms. Science alone will not eradicate cheating. The cheats are getting better at cheating. Scientists are increasingly reluctant to be placed in a position where their testing procedures are challenged in court. 25% of the world’s pharmaceuticals come from the black market.”

For reference purposes, the World Anti-Doping Agency’s prohibited list is here.
