Another indication that marathon swimming is entering its greatest renaissance is the fact that Quinten Nelson is back.

He is an escort pilot in the North Channel between Scotland and Ireland. He escorted Maggie Kidd across the North Channel in 1988 in 15 hours 26 minutes, but he has swimmers booked throughout June, July, August and September in 2012.
