Romain Baraud of France is on a roll, upsetting a star-studded field for the second consecutive week. Last week, he won the first stage of the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup in Santos, Brazil. This week, he won again at La Patagones Viedma, making his second victory more of an exclamation than an exception.

This time, he beat fellow Frenchman Damien Vidal and two-time Olympic 10K medalist Thomas Lurz of Germany to stand atop the podium after four 2.5 km loops in the Río Negro.

52 athletes from 12 countries participated in the event held in Patagonia.
