One thing about the Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean in Roberval, Québec, Canada, it has some most excellent pontoons. And plenty of them.

The pontoons – both at the start and the finish – are able to hold dozens of officials and volunteers during the finish. And the pontoons incorporate an entire finish systems with a vertical finish pad, high-speed cameras to capture and confirm the finish, and plenty of space to hold officials.
