The Graduate Gives A Lesson In The Open Water
Whether it is the 500-yard freestyle or the 1500m in the pool, University of Michigan senior-to-be Sean Ryan is faster than Harvard University alumnus Alex Meyer in every distance and every event in the pool.
But eliminate flip turns and throw in a bit of salt water and turbulence, and the tables turn.
In the video below, Meyer gets a jump on Ryan, showing a tremendous kick over taller teammate at the 2013 USA Swimming National 10 km Open Water Swimming Championships in Castaic Lake.
