The Enthusiasm And Passion Of The Next Generation

We had not seen an American high school swim meet in over 30 years.
But this season it has been our joyous pleasure to witness the camaraderie and spirit that so clearly exists among teammates of high school swimmers (see video below of a local dual meet in Southern California).
The effort they put into their athletic endeavors in the water, and the revelry they exhibit for their teammates is so palpable that is is frankly contagious.
The up-and-coming generation of swimmers will go on to swim in college, masters competitions, and undoubtedly open water swims from ice swims to channel swims, from ocean competitions to lake events. We will welcome their passion and enthusiasm – and the sport of open water swimming will be further revived with their abundance of energy and liveliness.
