Two swimmers from the Venezuelan open water swimming team are shown in nearly perfect synchronization during the 15 km FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix on the Isla Cozumel, Mexico.

Venezuela had the largest contingent of swimmers entered in this weekend’s 15 km swim in Mexico.

The team was a true team. The coaches were instructing and encouraging their swimmers with zeal from the feeding station, and prepared the team well in the days leading up to the event. The swimmers were distinct with their team colors, especially the silver and blue of their swim caps.

The female swimmers included Carla Diaz, Florencia Melo, Liliana Hernández, Vicenia Navarro, and Paola Perez. The male swimmers included Guillermo Bertola, Damian Blaum, Aquiles Balaudo, Mauricio Andres Gatica, and Gabriel Raul Villagoiz. It was a team through and through.
