Richard Broer Talks About Dutch Open Water Swimming On WOWSA Live

International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honor Contributor Richard Broer talked about open water swimming in the Netherlands with International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame chairman Ned Denison on today’s edition of WOWSA Live.

Broer, a psychologist and experienced communication skills trainer who specializes in worker participation counsels, described the following:

* swimming across the Strait of Gibraltar
* coaching swimmers across the English Channel and the IJsselmeer
* the existence of illegal or wild swims
* meeting with Herman Willemse
* his work on the Technical Open Water Swimming Committee in the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation
* swimming in the canals and lakes in the Netherlands, a tradition that started in 1948
* the strong tradition of swimming breaststroke in the open water
* putting together an early international open water swimming calendar
