Peter Jurzynski, An American In Folkestone

Back in 1985, people didn’t email, they simply mailed things.
Back in 1985, a hydrid probably had something to do with flora, not vehicular transportation.
Back in 1985, Microsoft launched its first version of Windows and compact disks and .com were first introduced.
And back in 1985, Peter Jurzynski first visited Folkestone on the shores of the English Channel from his hometown in America. His annual traverse across the Atlantic Ocean and journey to England is an example of his appreciation and passion for all things related to the English Channel. This year, Jurzynski will make his 33rd visit to the Channel stomping grounds.
That is a whole lotta dedication.
Over the years, Jurzynski‘ 33 visits from America have resulted in 17 attempts of the English Channel and a total of 13 successes. He has crossed the English Channel three times over the age of 50 to join the Half Century Club including a 17:08 crossing at the age of 51 i 2002, a 14:57 crossing at the age of 52 in 2002, and a 17:18 crossing in 2004 at the age of 53.
