In open water swims with an onshore finish, there is usually either a competitive urge to run up the beach as fast as possible in order to catch a fellow competitor, or an acknowledgement that you cannot or will not push your body any further as you walk up or trot towards the finish.
There is either a lot of intensity and focus, combined with huffing and puffing, in the first case, or genuine smiles in the later case.
