Dr. Marilyn Korzekwa became the first Canadian to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming with her 10 hour 2 minute circumnavigation at the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim.

After her 16 hour 40 minute English Channel crossing in 2011 and her 14 hour 24 minute Catalina Channel crossing in 2013, she completed the famed trio of marathon swims.

She described her finish, “I was crying with joy when I got in the boat. The word I am using to describe the swim is epic. It was so grand swimming down the Hudson at 5 knots past the skyscrapers and the new single World Trade Center tower…” Her first-hand account of her swim and journey to achieve the Triple Crown is here.
