Grêmio Náutico União’s Betina Lorscheitter won each of the three races in the Circuito Light Rei e Rainha do Mar event on Copacabana Beach this past weekend.
The professional marathon swimmer and university student won the 1 km Sprint in 11:21, the 2 km Classic in 26:01, and the 4 km Challenge in 53:30 with not a lot of time between each race.
With over 3,000 participants, she summed up the local buzz and her goals. “I love this event. I had the opportunity to swim in the Elite Challenge where I finished third next to Samuel de Bona which was a very important result. Today I came here with the intention of training, but also to win.”
